Hot Water Beach

This amazing beach in northern New Zealand has hot water springs in the sand at low tide. It seems crazy after "beachin' it" in Gloucester for so many years with very cold water that when you dig in this sand boiling water comes up! We said "ouch!" as we put our toes in and then had to build our "hot tub" by selecting a spot that had some cooler water to balance out the extremely hot water. We were alone on the beach when we arrived, but as the afternoon tide receded, abaout a hudnred people joined us for some "sand tubbing"! Fun!
