Flinders Ranges, South Australia

We enjoyed a nice weekend bushwalking up St. Mary's Peak and down through Wilpena Pound.
Amazing pink light in the Flinders Ranges wowed us at sunrise, sunset, and all through the day. We seemed t be the only people out there that weekend -- peaceful, beautiful landscape. These synclines in the Earth's crust have exposed the world's oldest fossils and are compared with Gros Morne in Newfoundland as important geologic areas. Even the rock looked similar.
We spotted three wedge tailed eagles feeding on "something" at the edge of the road. The road kill menu is very diverse and these magnificent birds don't have to work very hard to find breakfast.
